Equipment - Wireless


Voice Only Equipment: Provided by vendor during contract implementation and for each new line at activation:

·         Contracted vendors provide a basic equipment package at no cost during the Contract transition period (a one-time option) and for each newly activated voice-only line ordered during the life of the Contract.

·         The basic equipment package includes a handset (two choices), battery, and micro USB AC adaptor. Handsets include vibrate & speakerphone functionality and are E911 compatible.

·         Device options are detailed on the Contracted Vendor’s equipment matrix (linked within the “Vendor Information [vendor name] page that is linked on the wireless user guide.

·         Contracted vendors are responsible for repair of vendor provided equipment throughout the term of the contract.

For other than the above:

·         Prices are per the Contracted Vendor’s equipment matrix (linked within the “Vendor Information [vendor name] page which is linked on the wireless user guide.

·         The State will purchase, own and maintain this equipment.

 

Combination Voice & Data Equipment (SmartPhones)

·         The State will purchase, own and maintain this equipment.

·         Prices are per the Contracted Vendor’s equipment matrix (linked within the “Vendor Information [vendor name] page which is linked on the wireless user guide.

 

Data Only Equipment (aircards, modems, etc.):

·         The State will purchase, own and maintain this equipment.

·         Prices are per the Contracted Vendor’s equipment matrix (linked within the “Vendor Information [vendor name] page which is linked on the wireless user guide.

 

Accessories:

·         The State's contract provides discounts for accessories from contracted vendors; however, there is no obligation to purchase accessories from those vendors, especially if you find accessories at a lower cost from a different source.

·         The price for contracted vendor accessories is their retail rate less a fixed discount (% detailed within the “Vendor Information [vendor name] page which is linked on the wireless user guide).

 

Disposal of Equipment:

·         State owned equipment - Dispose of per Agency/State guidelines. SWAP (Surplus with a Purpose) has delegated authority to dispose of surplus State property.

·         AT&T Mobility Basic Package equipment - Do not return to vendor. Dispose of per Agency/State guidelines.

·         Sprint Basic Package equipment - Do not return to vendor. Dispose of per Agency/State guidelines.

·         US Cellular Basic Package equipment - Return equipment and AC charger for their disposal. Optional accessories purchased by the State for these phones should not be returned to the vendor. If an agency feels it can make use of this equipment (including accessories), they may keep it.

·         Verizon Wireless Basic Package equipment - Do not return to vendor. Dispose of per Agency/State guidelines.

 

Removal of Personal Information:

·         It is an Agency responsibility to remove personal information (contact/address books, call logs, messages, etc) prior to disposing of State owned equipment and disposing of or returning vendor provided equipment.

·         For Nokia phones:

·         Phonebook/Contracts -Select Contacts/Delete/Delete all/Phone/Default Security code is 12345

·         Text Messages -Select Messages/Text/Delete Messages/All Messages/OK

·         Multimedia messages –Select Messages/Multimedia Messages/Delete Messages/Inbox/OK/Back/Outbox/OK

·         Owner's manual for device

 

Lost or Stolen Equipment:

·         Contact vendor account representative or Agency Help Desk as quickly as possible. A corrective course of action will be recommended (e.g., suspend service, replace telephone, change telephone number, etc.).
